Dress for the Ride & Slide

This NT government campaign aims to encourage motorcycle riders to wear protective gear while riding and reduce the number of motorcyclists being killed or injured on our roads.

The campaign will feature across billboards, radio, television, digital and social media platforms, delivering an important reminder about the life-saving value of protective gear.

Motorcyclists have 18 times the risk of death or serious injury in a crash, regardless of whose fault it is. There’s no barrier between a motorcyclist and the outside world, and drivers or other road users may have a harder time seeing motorcyclists on the road.

The correct use of helmets, jackets, pants, boots, and gloves can improve your riding experience by protecting you from the elements that take the fun out of riding—and can save your life if things go wrong. Call us on (08) 8948 0995 to learn more.

Choosing the Right Protective Gear

Protective gear can keep you safer by:

  • Reducing distraction, fatigue, and dehydration
  • Making you more visible to others on the road
  • To increase visibility, choose light or high-contrast colours with reflective panels.

Motorcycle clothing is made from stronger, higher quality materials than regular jeans or work boots. Whether leather or textile, these garments:

  • Are highly abrasion-resistant
  • Can be fitted with impact protectors
  • Can include mesh panels for ventilation to help keep you cool

To learn more about what to look for in motorcycle clothing, visit the MotoCap website, which rates jackets, pants, and gloves for their abrasion resistance and comfort. This allows you to compare gear before buying.

For helmet safety ratings, visit the CRASH website for independent safety assessments.
